PatientNOW, a growing developer of EMR, sales automation and office management systems for aesthetic medical practices, is opening a new software development and quality assurance (QA) facility in Richmond, Virginia. As part of this expansion, the company has hired Robert Wilchek as Vice President of Development and plans to hire 6 to 10 employees in the coming months.
Mr. Wilchek brings to PatientNOW more than 25 years’ experience as a software architect, project leader, consultant and entrepreneur. At the Richmond facility, he will spearhead development and QA of PatientNOW’s next-generation office management systems for plastic surgery practices, medical spas and other aesthetic medical practices. Using a streamlined, cloud-based architecture, PatientNOW’s next generation will support portable devices including Apple iPads and Microsoft Surface tablets running Microsoft Windows 8.
As a consultant (and often a coworker), Mr. Wilchek has forged a strong working relationship with PatientNOW Cofounder and Chief Technical Officer Sam DenHartog over the years. “I’m very excited to have Robert on our team,” says Mr. DenHartog. “Robert’s expertise in guiding small development teams through the transition into large industry leaders will prove invaluable as he carries forward the features that have made PatientNOW successful while leading the development of our next generation.”
Mr. Wilchek says, “I look forward to helping PatientNOW to maintain its current code base and development team, while also building the team to be able to take the architecture to the next level. That’s what I do best.”
Accordingly, he adds, “I’m eager to tap into the highly skilled workforce in the Richmond area to keep PatientNOW on the leading edge of electronic medical record (EMR) technology and to enhance our patient acquisition and retention (PAR) system.” Initially, he says, PatientNOW plans to hire 6 to 10 people as the new office ramps up over the next 3 to 6 months.
PatientNOW is the EMR and practice management leader in aesthetic medical practices due to its PAR system, which helps practices to secure patients for life. With PAR, practices can follow up with patients and prospective patients automatically, thereby building revenues and mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
Furthermore, PatientNOW’s full Office of the National Controller for Health Information Technology (ONC) certification allows users to reap Medicare bonuses up to $44,000 per physician. This greatly helps offset the cost of EMR system implementation. Additionally, PatientNOW is Surescripts certified for electronic prescribing.
